The DAF adventure, which started in a modest construction workshop in 1928, was founded in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, by a Dutch engineer who is Hub Van Doorne. At the beginning, Van Doorne and his brother was doing welding and forging in their workshop but in 1932 they turned their workshop into a trailer workshop. Thus the company's took its current name, DAF (Doorne'S Aanhangwagen Fabriek), in other words Doorne's semi-trailer factory. In 1936, the first DAF container trailer was produced. Now, DAF was the world's first container supplier. DAF started truck production in 1949 that is why they changed its name to Dorne's Automobile Fabriek.

In 1966, DAF's innovation in cabin systems took driver comfort to another level. Thanks to this spaciously designed cabin, DAF has now become one of the most important actors in international transport. In 1996, DAF became a PACCAR company. DAF achieved an unprecedented success in the sector by receiving the title of "International Truck of the Year" 5 times. The adventure that started in a modest workshop continues today as a brand dedicated to innovation, quality and efficiency in transportation.
